Theirwork had been appointedthem ofGod ;by theirfaithfuladherenceto thetruth theywere to communicateto othersthelight which they had received. He bade them not to become weary in well-doing, and pointedthem to his own example of diligencein temporal matterswhilelaboringwith untiringzealinthe cause of Christ. He reprovedthosewho had giventhemselvesup toslothand aimlessexcitement, and directedthat " with quietnessthey work , and eat theirown bread." He alsoenjoined upon the church to separatefrom their fellowshipany who shouldpersistin disregarding his instructions. " Yet ," he added , “ count him not as an enemy , but admonish him as a brother." He concludedthisepistlealsowith a prayer, that amid life'stoilsand trialsthe peaceof God and the grace of the Lord Jesus Christmight be theirconsolationand support. CHAPTER XII . APOLLOS AT CORINTH .
