Who Is the Holy Spirit?
The King James Bible identifies the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of God, the Spirit of His Son, and the Spirit of Christ. Christ ascended bodily to His Father and the throne of God; by His Spirit, His life and personal presence dwell in every believer who receives Him.

The Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, and Christ in You

Two Locations, One Living Ministry

Jesus Christ sits bodily at the right hand of God upon the throne, where believers are called to follow Him by faith. At the same time, He ministers in His people by His Spirit, making His risen life present in every surrendered believer.

His Spirit Quickens the Mortal Body to Live His Risen Life
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead quickens the believer’s mortal body. Christ lives within, writes God’s law in the heart, and supplies His own life for obedience and victory over sin.

The Seed and the New Birth
Born of God by the Living Word
Jesus said, “The seed is the word of God” (Luke 8:11). Christ is the Word made flesh, and His words are spirit and life. The Bible’s spiritual-birth picture is therefore direct: the Word is received as seed, the Spirit of the Son enters the heart, and the risen life of Christ produces a child of God.
“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”1 John 3:9, KJV
“For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.”1 Corinthians 3:9, KJV
The believer cooperates as God’s husbandry and building; the seed, life, power, and holiness come from Christ.

Who Is the Holy Spirit?
Is the Holy Spirit called the Spirit of Christ?
Yes. Romans 8:9 calls Him the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ in the same passage. Galatians 4:6 says God sends the Spirit of His Son into believers’ hearts.
Was the Second Adam made a quickening spirit?
Yes. The correct reference is 1 Corinthians 15:45: “The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” The risen Christ gives His own resurrection life.
Why do believers need the risen Spirit of Christ within?
Human strength cannot reproduce Christ’s character. Romans 8:9-11 says the Spirit of Christ dwells within and quickens mortal bodies; Galatians 4:6 says the Spirit of God’s Son enters the heart and cries, “Abba, Father.”
What is the seed of God in the new birth?
Jesus said, “The seed is the word of God” (Luke 8:11). Christ is the Word made flesh (John 1:14), His words are spirit and life (John 6:63), and 1 John 3:9 says God’s seed remains in the person born of God.
Can the born-again child of God live free from sin?

What does it mean that we are labourers together with God?
First Corinthians 3:9 teaches cooperation: believers are labourers together with God, while all life, righteousness, wisdom, and transforming power come from Him. The human agent yields and obeys; Christ supplies His indwelling life.
What does “the Lord is that Spirit” mean?
Second Corinthians 3:17 identifies the Lord with the Spirit in the work of liberty and transformation. Verse 18 says believers are changed into the same image by the Spirit of the Lord.
Why was it expedient for Christ to go away?
John 16:7 says the Comforter would come after Christ departed. John 14:16-18 joins that promise to Christ’s words, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
Where is the physical body of Jesus Christ now?
After His resurrection, Christ ascended to His Father and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (John 20:17; Acts 2:30-33; Hebrews 8:1). By His Spirit He is present with and in believers everywhere.
How does Christ write God’s law in the heart?
The Spirit of the living God writes in fleshy tables of the heart (2 Corinthians 3:3), fulfilling the new-covenant promise that God puts His laws into the mind and writes them in the heart (Hebrews 8:10).
