No faithfulhand recordedfor the generationstocome ,the lastscenesin the life of thisholyman ; but inspirationhas preserved forus hisdying testimony. Likea trumpetpeal hashisvoicerung outthroughalltheages,nervingwith hisown couragethousandsof witnesses forChrist,and wakening inthousandsofsorrowstrickenheartstheechoof hisown triumphant joy: " I am now ready to be offered, and the timeofmy departureisathand. I have fought a good fight,I have finishedmy course,I have kept thefaith. Henceforththereislaidup for me a crown ofrighteousness,whichtheLord,the righteousJudge,shallgiveme at thatday; and nottome only,but untoallthem alsothatlove his appearing.'
