Notwithstandingtheobstaclesand dangers,theywould walk in the light, trustingin God foropportunitytolettheirlightshineforthtoothers. Who isplacedincircumstancesmore unfavorabletoa religiouslife,orrequiredtomake greater sacrifices, to encountergreaterdangers, or to bringupon himselffierceropposition,than would followthe exchange of heathenismforChristianityby thosewho were inofficein thecourt of Caesar ? No man can be so situated that he cannot obey God . There is too littlefaithwith Christiansof to-day. They arewillingtowork for Christ and his cause only when they themselvescan seea prospectof favorableresults. Divine grace will aid the effortsof every true believer. That graceis sufficientfor us under allcircumstances. The Spiritof Christwill exertitsrenewing, perfectingpower upon the character of all who will be obedient and faithful . God is the great I AM ,the sourceof being, the centerof authorityand power. Whatever the conditionor situationof his creatures,they can have no sufficientexcuse for refusingto answer the claims of God . The Lord holds us responsibleforthe lightshiningupon our pathway . We may be surroundedby difficulties that appear formidableto us, and becauseof thesewe may excuseourselvesfor not obeying the truthas itis in Jesus; but there can be no excusethatwillbearinvestigation. Could there be an excusefordisobedience,itwould proveour heavenlyFatherunjust,inthathe had givenus conditions of salvation with which we could not comply .
