They take onlyone stepat a time away from therightpath; but thesesuccessive steps lead directlyto perdition. They place themselveson Satan'sground,and hisspiritcontrolsthem. They cannot perceivethe great change in themselves. None are transformed at once; but they enter Satan's school instead of the schoolof Christ,and the greatdeceiver educates them to do his work . CHAPTER XXI . TRIAL AT CÆSAREA . FIVE days afterPaul'sarrivalat Cæsarea,his accusersalsocame down from Jerusalem,accompaniedby one Tertullus,an oratorwhom they had engaged as their counsel. The case was granteda speedyhearing. Paul was brought beforetheassembly,and Tertullusproceededto specifythechargesagainsthim.
