The Exeter Camp Meeting & The 10th Day of the 7th Month
In August 1844, at a massive camp meeting in Exeter, New Hampshire, S. S. Snow presented his detailed biblical calculations based on the Karaite Jewish calendar.
He showed that the 2,300 days of Daniel 8:14 began in the autumn of 457 B.C. and would terminate on the Tenth Day of the Seventh Month (Yom Kippur — the Day of Atonement), which in 1844 fell on October 22.
The presentation struck the encampment with electric power. Captain Joseph Bates, James White, and Charles Fitch caught the message, and within weeks The True Midnight Cry spread across North America, awakening 50,000 believers to trim their lamps!
