Only thosewhose charactersare thoroughlydisciplinedtomeet the divinestandard willbe abletostand firmin thattestingtime. But when enemies shallbe on every side, watching them for evil,the God of Heaven will be watchinghispreciousjewelsforgood. When secularrulersunitewith theministersofreligion to come between God and our conscience, then those who cherish the fear of God will be revealed . When thedarknessisdeepest,thenthelightofa noble,Godlike characterwillshinethe brightest. When everyothertrustfails,thenitwillbeseen who have an abidingtrustin God . The strongerand purerthefaithofGod'speople, and the firmertheirdeterminationtoobey him , the more willSatan stirup therage of those who claim to be righteous, whiletheytrample upon thelaw ofGod. In thatcomingemergency, rulersand magistrateswillnot interposein be halfof God's people. There willbe a corrupt harmony with allwho have not been obedientto the law of God . In that day , alltime-servers, allwho have not the genuinework of gracein theheart,willbefoundwanting.
