He determinedthatthename and salvationofJesusshouldbe diffusedby him as a sweet odor . He and his fellow-laborers would celebratetheirvictoryover the enemies of Christ and the truth. They would go forth to theirdutieswithnew zealand courageto spread theknowledgeofChrist,as a streamof fragrant incense,throughtheworld. To thosewho would acceptChrist,themessage would be a savor of lifeuntolife; but to thosewho would persistin unbelief, it would be a savor of death unto death . 1 Paul, feelingtheoverwhelmingmagnitudeof the work , exclaims, " And who issufficientfor these things?" Who is competent to preach Christinsucha way thathisenemiesshallhave nojustcausetodespisehim or themessagewhich he bears? Paul would impressupon believersthe solemn responsibilityof the gospel ministry. Faithfulnessinpreachingthe word,joinedto a pureand consistentlife, would alone make the effortsofministersacceptableto God,and profitableto souls.
