The chapletof fading laurelispresentedbeforeus in thestrongestcontrastwith the enduringhonor and thecrown of immortalglorywhich he willreceivewho runs with triumphthe Christianrace, and becomesa victorin thespiritualwarfare. There must be no flaggingof zeal, no wavering steps, or the effortwill be lost. The last few strides of the contestantsin the racewere alwaysmade with agonizingefforttokeep up undiminishedspeed.
