The First Angel's Message
Revelation 14:6–7 · c. 1840–1844"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
— Revelation 14:6–7 (KJV)The First Angel calls all the world back to the Creator God — the God who made heaven and earth, the sea and the fountains of waters. This is a direct reference to the fourth commandment (Exodus 20:8–11), the Sabbath of creation, which identifies the true God from all false systems of worship.
The First Angel’s Message in The Present Truth
James White carried the judgment-hour proclamation into print through The Present Truth. The paper gathered the scattered believers around the sanctuary, Sabbath, sealing, and the faith of Jesus, preserving the light that the Protestant churches the Advent band had come out of in 1843 and 1844 had rejected.
“The present truth now, is that which shows present duty, and the right position for us who are about to witness the time of trouble such as never was.”— James White, The Present Truth, as preserved in the SundayLaw source study

The proclamation "the hour of His judgment is come" pointed prophetically to October 22, 1844 — the end of the 2,300-day prophecy of Daniel 8:14, when Christ entered the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary to begin the investigative judgment. William Miller, Charles Fitch, Apollos Hale, and a host of Advent preachers carried this message across the United States and the world from approximately 1840 to 1844.
"The first angel's message of Revelation 14, announcing the hour of God's judgment and calling upon men to fear and worship Him, was designed to separate the professed people of God from the corrupting influences of the world and to arouse them to see their true condition of worldliness and backsliding."
